Recently invited to participate in the Non Sequitur Summer Festival 2008, Griffith is excited to be collaborating with poet/novelist Douglas A Martin. Performances in New York at The Flea, August 16-21.
Preview Unnatural Acts of Opera--(from Russell Platt's blog) Two highly unusual operatic escapades have come within our view. The first is live: two evenings of “subversive” chamber operas by Daniel Felsenfeld and Jennifer Griffith (tonight and on April 17, at 8) at the Zipper Factory. Felsenfeld’s “The Bloody Chamber” revisits the Bluebeard myth, in modern guise. Griffith’s works are more lighthearted: “The Dressing Room” concerns a mezzo-soprano who is sick of “pants roles,” being advised by her cross-dressing dresser, while in “Dream President,” a former Chief Executive is tutored on sex and politics by three American women—Red, White, and Blue.
Griffith's Woodwind Quintet is performed with the Tessera quintet. at Elebash Recital Hall Nov 30th, 2006, 7:30PM "Tania" one of 5 orchestral pieces, Griffith is currently working on, will be performed by the Graduate Center's Contemporary Music Ensemble at the Elebash Recital Hall, Dec 6th, 2006, 7:30PM Hang-up premieres in New York with the Alaria Trio.
